The Ukrainian School of Political Studies is one of the most successful educational and networking projects in Ukraine. It focuses on civic and political education.
The project was founded in 2005 as a democratic achievement of the Orange Revolution and on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Ukraine’s accession to the Council of Europe. For 18 years, we have brought together over 500 successful leaders from various fields: civil servants, lawyers, servicemen and women, businesspersons, scholars, politicians, journalists, representatives of creative professions, and public figures.
The Ukrainian School of Political Studies offers not only education, we create a community of like-minded people who are able to change and develop a democratic Ukraine. If you share the School’s values and want to join the most powerful community of leaders in Ukraine, please apply.
The School considers it its duty to support servicepersons and veterans fully, so this year, we especially encourage people with military experience to apply for the programme. They prove their commitment and desire for a better future for Ukraine every day.
We are looking for people who:
- have significant professional achievements in politics, journalism, public service, military service, law and in civic, scientific, creative and entrepreneurial activities;
- take an active civic position and are able to apply acquired knowledge in their daily activities;
- are citizens of Ukraine who have the appropriate educational level for the chosen field;
- knowledge of foreign languages is an additional advantage during the selection process.
Conditions for participating in the programme:
- Selected participants must be located in Ukraine and be able to participate in all three school training sessions that take place throughout the year.
- USPS, at its sole discretion, sets a registration fee for selected participants to participate in the annual programme. Starting in 2023, all registration fees will be donated to the Come Back Alive Foundation and support for the Ukrainian army.
However, if a participant cannot afford the registration fee, the School will treat such situations on a case-by-case basis. One of the School’s fundamental principles is to provide equal opportunities for participation for people from different backgrounds and with different abilities. Our main criterion has always been and is value-based.
More about the programme:
- From the very beginning of the programme, participants are given the opportunity to attend other School events (in particular, within the USPS Club).
- Participation costs (accommodation, meals, training, handouts, etc., except for travel within Ukraine) are covered by the School and its partners.
- We appreciate every application. The Selection Committee carefully examines the profiles of all applicants. When forming a group, the USPS Selection Committee is guided by the need to maintain professional, gender and regional balance strictly. A group may include no more than 50% of participants from Kyiv or Kyiv oblast each year. We are also committed to maintaining gender balance in the group and equal involvement of specialists from different fields.
