USPS alumni in the 2020 local elections

57 alumni of the Ukrainian School of Political Studies are running for local elections, which will take place in Ukraine this Sunday, October 25. This is more than one in ten from the USPS Community.

Our alumni are running for positions of various levels in almost all regions of Ukraine. 10 of them (17% of those who are running) are competing for a mayor’s office and two more alumni want to lead village councils. Others are running for deputies of regional, city, district, village, and settlement councils.

Most of the alumni were included into electoral lists of various political parties. At the same time, we want to support those who decided to run independently, taking responsibility for developing Ukraine on the ground. This will be one of the most difficult elections in the history of our country. And after them, everything will not become simple in one moment.

But we believe in success of each and every one of you who do not betray principles, who have courage to break the “system” and build stable institutions, to change, fight “for” and “against” and to work for well-being of your communities.
